We have a new customer. The customer has bought an older house in Nordsjælland, which needs to be renovated. It is a turnkey project, which means that we practically have to tear everything down and start from scratch. We are going to make 2 new bathrooms with underfloor heating, a new kitchen, new plaster ceilings, new wooden floors with underfloor heating, new electricity in the whole house, filing of the whole house on the outside and new tiling. It is an exciting task, where there is an opportunity to change the look of the house completely.

The task is not unfamiliar to us and we actually do some of these turnkey contracts. But it is still a challenging task, as there are many professional groups involved. It all has to “clap” and be coordinated well, as there is a tight schedule.

But it’s all worth it when the family moves in and uses the “new” house as it was intended when the drawings were made. But before you can start such a project, a contract must be drawn up. What many do not know is how many months can pass before closing an agreement on such a project. There are many steps in the process for both the contractor and the client. Some of these steps can e.g. be a bidding round between different contractors, credit approvals at the bank, contractors’ insurance for the construction and meetings with various advisers. After that, an installment and time schedule and a contract must be drawn up that satisfies both parties. Our youth stage as a contractor in this process is when the contract lands in the office in a signed state… – and it did today.

We will regularly make posts about the “Det Gule Hus” project, so that you can follow the process and the various projects a total contract entails.

Good weekend.
